If you have had a negative test result after your period is due it is unlikely that you are pregnant, but certainly not impossible. Negative test results are less reliable than positive ones, and there are a number of factors that can affect if your pregnancy is detected, such as the time of day you took the result (first thing in the morning is best to get the most accurate result) or if you are taking certain other medications. The best thing to do is to wait and take another test 1 week after taking that first test. If the result is negative, you still haven’t had your period and you still feel the same, do go and make an appointment with your GP.
