Advice needed (pregnancy)

I currently suffer from PCOS so my periods are a little hit and miss at the best of times. Recently they have managed to work themselves into a pattern. However, I had unprotected sex about a month ago and although I have not missed my period I've noticed that this one is different to others. I'm usually extremely heavy and this time it's very very light, I also have severe pain in my lower abdominal area. Where many people would assume the womb is.... Any advice would be great!

Hi there

If it has been over 3 weeks since you had unprotected sex then I would recommend taking a pregnancy test, because your last period was not normal for you. If you are still worried after taking the test then it might be a good idea to see your GP.

You can get tests for free from your GP or local contraceptive and sexual health clinic (you can find your nearest one here fpa.org.uk/find-a-clinic ). Although you can also buy them from pharmacies, supermarkets and even pound shops.

Hi there

If you have had an implant fitted then you may have some spotty bleeding for the 1st few months. If not and you think you are pregnant then I would recommend taking a pregnancy test 3 weeks after sex and it might be a good idea to start some contraception if you get a negative result.

Hi there

I think it would be a really good idea for you to visit your local contraceptive and sexual health clinic and talk through your symptoms with one of the nurses and they should be able to find out what is going on, you can find your local clinic here: fpa.org.uk/find-a-clinic

Hi sorry I been I been GP thay think am preg I am 3 late I show sign in last 3 weeks now I tell I noices of I tell them I had bk pain and boobs pain and I had 2 noics blee and I away tried too my tummy big and heard in 3 weeks thay asked me do pess samples done that today if not am go GP agin next wesday doing boold test see am preg too I got wait and see
