diverticulitis after bowel resection ?

Hi everyone. I used to be on here a lot. I’ve had a bowel resection due to diverticulitis , 3 years ago. Iliostomy for 3 months , reversal and recovery , slow but steady . Few problems , appendix removal due to scar tissue from iliostomy scar. That was nearly 2 years ago. Been ok since, few problems with fibre etc . Can’t have too much . Past few days I’ve had low left hand pain , very similar to my diverticulitis attacks. The surgeon said it was very unlikely to return , but I know it can sometimes. I am really worried. I have had pain here before , but it has passed , too much fibre I think, but it’s very tender this time. Please tell me anyone that has had this surgery has not had their diverticulitis come back. Then I can blame something else until I see the doctor . Thank you .

Hopefully, you have been to see your Dr about this now. I haven't had a resection and hope to avoid it. I was hospitalised in 2017 and have had 2 significant flare-ups since. The last was dealt with via diet and ABs. I believe I have a flareup now but being a BH w/e I have to wait to see GP. I am not too bad. I hope you are ok.

Thank you so much for your reply. Yes I have , dr thinks it was something i ate. It’s very complicated after resection to get eating right, not to much fibre. Now I’m going today for reflux and pain behind right rib. I’m wondering if it’s gallstones. My digestive system is so complicated . Thank you .
