I was recommended that I go on Evenity as my DEXA showed a worsening of my T scores in femoral neck (now -3.6) & spine (-3.5) & as this is an anabolic, it is better for hips & actually creates bone & tissue. However I have aortic valve regurgitation & it seems there a contraindication with anyone with heart conditions? I have been trying to contact a cardiologist as I need to find a new one but appointments are hard to come by. One of the nurses said I should be fine, (I don't think she researched & because it's an 'osteoporosis' medication, most of which don't have that contraindication, I'm wondering if she is even aware of that particular medication).Just wondering if anyone else has had that issue with Evenity?

I also have lumbar compression fractures & also deal with Exocrine Pancreatic Insufficiency (EPI) which means I am unable to absorb nutrients from food without taking pancreatic enzymes & very underweight, so quite the perfect storm for osteoporosis for this 70yr old body!

Well done getting the EPI diagnosis though - yet another cause of OPorosis by the sound of it.

Hi, who recommended you to go onto Evenity?

If it was a Consultant at the hospital they should be aware of all your medical conditions, if you have discussed it with him or her may I suggest you contact their secretary and ask them to continuous are okay to start it.

There is a video on the ROS site where a rheumatologist discusses all the treatments for Osteoporosis.I found this really useful.I don't know the details of your heart condition but I know Evenity should not be prescribed to women who have a heart attack or stroke.Good luck.
