I broke a 340mg capsule into thirds and tipped into a vegecap and took one third of the strontium citrate the other night then took the same again 2 days later. Yesterday and today I have had the worse stomach pains, and been on the toilet, today was worse, was on the toilet all day 6 x times in total with horrible sharp stabbing pains in the lower stomach. Last night I had low down bad aching in the lower back and also very bad achy legs.
I know I am quite med sensitive, but this seems quite a strong reaction from such a small amount of strontium citrate. Has anyone else had the same thing happen.
Thankyou

I take strontium without such drastic side effects. Did you take each portion in a vegecap? Presumably that works in the same way as the capsule the strontium comes in? Strontium can cause stomach upset, though I'd have thought that was unlikely at such a low dose. Is it possible there's something else that's caused the problem? Worth checking the other ingredients, and also rule out that it isn't just coincidence/a tummy bug/something else you've eaten.
Unfortunately not . I am trying to take Silicea caps again - I had to stop taking them too because they caused my IBS to flare-up, as my fingernails will not grow and are forever tearing. 😟
I used to have good strong finger nails until the last year and like you, they wont grow because of splitting and tearing. Is that a sign something is lacking?
I've taken strontium citrate without any noticeable effects whatsoever. I'm...not very medication sensitive, though sometimes random things will get me (like, I got uncontrollably itchy after a particular probiotic?) So, I don't know. Sorry! All I know is, strontium seems to be considered iffy--maybe not worth worrying about trying to take? Why are you taking it? I only tried it based on YouTube videos....
