Trying to understand better how osteoporosis drugs acts, I saw someone saying that for this range of T score, ridedronate it is not applicable since it is used more for maintenance not reconstruction of the bone.

Does someone here, with similar Tscore. are taken it or has taken it and not any more? And did experience an increase at Tscore?

Thanks a lot

Thank Verauk,

I've been watching to see if anyone did reply to you - but I think as you said ridedronate isn't a medication that 'improves' but helps hold what you have got.

Have you been able to access the ROS website and find the leaflets on all the medications available in the UK? I found that very helpful to understand what the drug is supposed to do, what side effects people have reported and the chance of a side effect happening.

I would think if you have T scores of -3.2 it may be consider you need help with 'building' and not just holding. Hence someone saying that for this range of T score, ridedronate it is not applicable????

Best Wishes

finding this interesting that risodronate is more about maintaining. I was prescribed despite normal dexa for spine and osteopenic borderline to osteoporosis in hip. I’ve remained steady for around 20 years as focus on exercise and weights.
