Pregabalin

Hi,

I have recently been prescribed buprenorphine 10mcg patches and also pregablin for the nerve pain I wonder if anyone has any positive experiences with pregablin and what dosage did you take? How long does it take to work? Many thanks

hi. I take pregabalin for ankle pain and it works well. When it was at its worst I took 100mg. It’s better now and I take 50. No real side effects but that is different for each patient. Start slowly and work up. I find it more effective than gabapentin

Thank you that’s really helpful, do you split your doses? What times do you find it best to take it.

I finally got the info for mine and it’s starts at 25mg at night for a week then 25mg morning and night and goes up like that for 8 weeks till I’m on around 300mg I think but it can be modified for whatever helps I guess.

I take 25 mg am and pm. When I was at my highest dose it was 50 mg am and pm. I did not need the higher dose for very long. Also it depends on what meds you are already on. I do not take much of anything and I don’t drink caffeine or alcohol. Please check out the side effects.

Thank you for the heads up I’ll wait and see and hopefully it will kick in when I up the dose I just need the gp to sort out prescribing more as they didn’t give me enough to follow what my consultant asked for the dosage which is really annoying especially as the next time I can request a repeat is the 29th which is Friday before the bank holiday so I will of run out!!!! I just hope they act following my email telling them but who knows with my luck.
