Hi I've recently been diagnosed with osteopenia in some areas of spine and hips. I have Sjogrens Syndrome and the rheumatologistordered hand x-rays and these have come back with osteoporosis in the fingertips they are numb and tingly. I'm quite surprised - does anyone else have this?

Osteoporosis in fingertips
Never heard of that was it definitely osteoporosis- not osteoarthritis?
Osteoarthritis is very common in hands and fingers and that would make sense for the rheumatologist to diagnose arthritis. Unfortunately nothing much you can do although my GP (also rheumatologist) said that taking at least 1g of active ingredient daily of Glucosomine can help, I found it does, less pain and stiffness.
Does sound like osteoarthritis, my friend just been xrayed, has it in all fingers and toes. She has bought special gloves and wrist supports which help enormously as she does gardening, ponies etc. also exercises to help prevent them worsening. I found MSM tabs help a lot too. 🙂
Thanks. I'll read up about MSM. It's antiinflammatory so pretty sure that's what I need to work on too.
MSM tablets? Interested to know what these are…x
It's methylsufonylmethane. I'm just researching it myself but a paper I have read said it was better in combination with glucosamine-chondroitinsulfate (GC). Hopefully someone here will know more but I'm going to research further and may then try it on its own or with GC.
