Prolia
Good to hear they suit you. If you do ever need to stop taking them, it's highly recommended to go straight onto another osteoporosis medication for 2 years (at the moment that's a bisphosphonate) to reduce the risk of rebound fractures. Hopefully risedronate or a bisphosphonate infusion would suit you, otherwise you'll need to stay on prolia for life, or until they come up with an alternative to bisphosphonates as a relay drug.
Hi! I’m on Prolia and have had no problems with that. I had one tablet of Alendronic Acid and was violently sick. Mind you a lot of tablets upset my tummy so I hope nobody takes any notice of that. I was put onto Terraparatide first and was fine with that too. I took it for two years.
Hello nottowell
So glad you have found a medication that suits you.
As Met00 says you have to be careful about stopping Prolia, and do feel you can make a fuss if for any reason there is a delay before your next injection. I mark the date on the calendar of when I expect to hear to go for the next lot of blood tests (3-4 weeks before the injection) and the date I expect to hear re injection (6 months after the last). On one occassion the blood forms got lost in the post, so I was able to sort things out in plenty of time.
It's also easier to plan dental checks with the calendar marked, then if the dentist spots more of a major issue the timing is right so the work is done at the 4.5 / 5 month stage after the last injection. This way there will be the minimum of issues 'just in case', but Osteonecrosis of the jaw is an extremely rare problem. Though I know people have written about having the problem on this site.
Good wishes

I'm also on Prolia...taken it for two years without problems. Hope to continue it for life...only med I take...other than my much loved pred (forget the side effects...I would not be alive without them)
You still have protection. It doesn't suddenly stop after 6 months. Probably good idea to get it within 6 or 8 weeks of due date. Hope you get it without too much difficulty.
