Whatever you get make sure it has very small weights which can be added slowly. All you want to do is stress the bones to stimulate the osteoblasts to lay down more bone and this is what happens as you add more weights over time. I have one which uses weights which are only about 2 ounces each. The vest carries 10 lb, although I believe you can work up to double that - I don't expect to get that far, currently carrying around 8 lbs. It's Hypervest.

It is a bit expensive bu I fully expect it will last me the rest of my life. It's exponentially more comfortable to wear a weighted vest than lug a heavy backpack as the weight is distributed evenly over the torso instead of hanging off the shoulders.

Hi. I spent ages researching different vests, my first choice would have been a mega expensive one from America. By accident I came across one in an Argos catalogue which is a local uk shop. It cost just under £10 and does the job very well. It's fully adjustable and comfortable. They allowed me to try it before buying it. I believe the weights are little packs of sand. Haven't used mine since breaking my wrist as I was unable to put it on with one hand. Thank you for asking your question, you've reminded me to start using it again. xx
