hi my dad was diagnosed with Hcc, stage 4 with a tumor of 10x11 cms and metastasis to the spine. He was diagnosed in January 2024. He had a big lesion in T10 vertebrae. They put him on Infimzi and Imjudo immunotherapy. After shortly 4 months his tumor shrank to 8.9x8 cms and his cirrosis surface got better but unfortunately more lesions were seen in his spine and has spread to lymph nodes in abdomen, the oncologist said immunotherapy is not doing anything on him. I’m devastated. He suggested to put him on canonetux or hospice 😭😭😭💔💔… my dad has excruciating pain in his back, pain decreases but never goes away, he is taking OxyCodone and gabapentin for pain but sometimes he still can feel the pain pretty high.. we chose the route of cabometyx hoping it won’t effect or increase his pain… any similar experiences? I feel desperate, I’m not ready to say goodbye to my dad!

Hello Jogline

I'm so sorry to hear about your father. Is your father receiving true palliative care (which can overlap but is different from hospice)? There is no reason for him to be in pain. I highly recommend this workshop we did last fall because it talks about palliative care in depth: youtu.be/dUVc5hsBM28

The survey is no longer available. However, we have other opportunities throughout the year. Please let AllysonBlueFaery know if you're interested in participating in programs in the future. You can private chat with her and provide your email.

💙Andrea
