Bile duct

Hi everyone sorry not been on here in a while but time has flown away . Karls back in hospital with thinning bile duct . There doing MRI tomorrow and probably putting a stent in . Any one had this done . He’s 7 month post transplant. He’s been doing really well back doing everything he was doing before transplant. Just feel so scared 😟 xx

Hello Debski,

Stents are not uncommon after a transplant. Have the doctors explained what the long-term plan is? Will the stent be permanent? Can the bile duct repair itself? (given the liver regenerates its own tissue)

Hi love they tried putting stent in last week and it would go in. There trying again tomorrow . Just so worried as he’s eyes are very yellow xx

That jaundice look is the worst, it’s so scary. I’m sorry y’all are going through this. You’re in my thoughts, hoping the stent goes in properly this time.

Hello Debski,

What is his current bilirubin count? Jaundice can go away, but it is a sign that the liver may be failing. Ask about the repercussions of putting in the stent v. not putting in the stent. Ask about all other options.

Hi they have said he needs stent ! Liver is doing ok . Hopefully all be sorted today thank god fingers crossed xxxx
