Hi husband is taking ramipril, indepamide and bisoprolol for a good few months now and feels pretty rubbish most of the time constantly tired we've been doing BP readings all week and he's averaging 130/90 again. His levels had come down a fair bit when first taking all 3,is it normal for them to suddenly be less effective and how did people fix this, surely he can't just keep taking more and more pills forever.
Any ideas appreciated - he is only 40 and no specific cause found for high BP

Thanks so much, I'll take a look. Yes we've been looking at lifestyle, he's not particularly overweight but not skinny either so has been doing a lot more exercise lately
Brilliant thank you, didn't know that existed. The NHS pages just repeat the same basic info so anything more detailed I can read up on to help him is great!
Go low carb. The lion diet bought my blood pressure down but this is the ultimate elimination way of eating. Also if you have not got one a blood pressure monitor is a must.
Thanks, we have a blood pressure monitor. His BP has come down since starting meds it was over 180 at the start and then about 150/110 for a while just expected 3 tablets to be keeping it much lower. Just Googled the lion diet - not sure he could manage something that hardcore! We're definitely trying to improve general diet though
Took me a couple of years to get to the lion diet. Went low carb, then keto and then ketovore before I went carnivore. Tried the lion diet in January and noticed I had to come off my BP medication as it dropped below a hundred (top figure).
If so….do ask for a referral to a consultant..in my 40/50’s I spent months with my very diligent caring GP trying to balance my GP & my cholesterol levels.
She finally decided I needed to be examined by somebody with more knowledge(her words) than she had& within months was prescribed the right meds FOR ME…& now I’m 30+ yrs older& have a good BP with no probs for my age.
