Dr Greger in nutrition facts.org says flax seeds are better than most bp medications at reducing blood pressure - anyone found this to be true ?

Flax seeds and Blood Pressure
Part of the standard recommendations for people diagnosed with hypertension is to pay special attention to their diet. One of the recommendations is to eat nuts and seeds but no more than one handful per day.
I haven’t ploughed through the website of Nutrition Facts to find whereabouts this recommendation comes, and the quantities specified, nor found reference to any studies done to ascertain that doctor’s recommendation.
What I tend to follow is the recommendations of
National Institute for Clinical Evidence (NICE)
Blood pressure Uk
British Heart Foundation
NHS
None of the above have any interest in selling you products so I think can be trusted.
Other posters have have different views and I too would be interested to see them.
a guy on here jomico used them with good results,i think u have to be careful how much u take, he monitered his bp over the day and it did lower it a lot, check his posts very helpful guy, theres loads of natural things to take if they suit you and work for u,a mate of mine has high bp for 20 years and docs warned him for that long,he takes nothing and still here at 72 and its still sky high, so are we worring for nothing, most feel better like myself not taking bp pills, i like half a baby aspirin a day, turmeric, extra virgin olive oil, does it lower my bp,no idea not checked it for 27 months but feel well .
My ex-husband tried ground flax seeds daily, but the quantity (for him) of 2 tablespoons a day he found difficult to consume, so he didn't take them in sufficient quantity to be able to tell. I suppose it depends what you eat on a daily basis - I certainly find 2 tablespoons difficult mixed in with my porridge/muesli, so I just have one tablespoon a day, but then I'm not trying to get my blood pressure down. If I was, I'd probably put a tablespoon in yoghurt or my green nutribullet smoothie or some other food stuff I eat daily and eat them that way.
If you follow Dr. Greger, you probably know that its perfectly safe to eat 2 tablespoons a day, they are not going to poison you with cyanide, which is what a lot of people will warn you about. If you try it, make sure you use ground flax seed, not whole seeds because the latter just go straight through the body...
Can anyone cite any peer-reviewed study AT ALL to corroborate these claims for diet affecting blood pressure?
well who would do a study, drug companies no,food companies no, they make money selling pills and food, you have to see if it works for u,i bet no one has done a study on taking bp pills for 20 years on the same people andsee what ailments they get or how many died, how many over 70 live longer by taking drugs,no one knows, its suck it and see, i no people who are fat, unfit, ill but there bp fine, healthy looking ones bp high, are we been conned about bp pressures, who knows.
I'm still not seeing any PEER-REVIEWED medical study re diet and blood pressure.
why do u want to,
