I'm wondering how many of you have had depression or low mood on felodipine? I've been taking it for 3 months now and have definitely noticed a big dip in my moods. I'm a lot more anxious too.
It's on the list of rare side effects but I wonder if it's more common than that.
I've tried many meds in the past (amplodipine, losartan, lisinopril, ramipril, bendroflumethiazide, indapamide) and had to come off as I seem to be getting all the side effects that are uncommon or rare or they just don't work.
This is also causing a lot of anxiety about my covid jab as the rare side effects are causing death or hospitalisation.

Hello anneonimois. Love the name! As you say you’ve low mood, have you thought about going to the forum on HealyUn. for this? As you’ve tried so many meds already. Have you thought about cognitive behavioural therapy?
Haha. Thanks! I have no idea what that is, I literally just found this website yesterday and figured it'd be a good place to ask.I have other complex issues going on which CBT & counselling don't help with unfortunately.
Your enquiry to us hypertensives is I think too complex for us lay people. I expect you’ve been to the website of Blood Pressure UK for hints and tips?
I am BP med sensative I m on Verapamil 120mg. works for me..no side affects either. Dr. added Spironolactone 25mg. last Sept. I am tolerating that one also.
You're not a lost cause. I tried felodipine but found my ankles became swollen so am now on ramipril. Not sure that suits me either but it's only 12 days in . I've had the jab, twice, and let me tell you, it's better than having covid. I would go back to your doctor and explain how you're feeling. Keep in touch.
Hopefully you'll be okay on it.Yeah, it probably is if the side effects are minor. If someone would tell me I'm not going to die or end up in hospital, I'd happily get jabbed. I'm edging closer though, so that's positive.
I'm going to speak to my GP tomorrow, even though they are close to useless.
I take ramipril for blood pressure. Seems OK had no problems. It's an established drug and I would think its use and side effects are well known. I take a divided dose, twice a day.
