Been doing a txt msg from my gp to keep track of my BP, So received a call today and they have said my blood pressure is rising and they are adding Propranolol 2 times a day to my list of other medicines, is anyone else on this and along with ramipril, amlodipine and indapamide. I'm concerned over the side effects as having bad ones just now with what I'm currently taken.

that was one of the worst for me,gave me panic attacks, suicidal thoughts, shaking like ive never done in my life, feeling like death, pins and needles in feet and hands
I'm taking it along with Ramipril and Amlodipine and it seems to be working okay with no additional side effects than I'm already having with those two.
Hi Mark. If the side effects are that bad, you should talk to your GP and ask for an alternative. If you have not been on them long, give it a bit longer as sometimes it can take a while for you to get used to taking them. You could also talk to your pharmacist and ask advice about how and when you should take them - that may make a difference too. Good luck.
I had that with many before finding some tolerable ones to manage my bp.
I’m now on Peridopril and Propranolol (also twice a day).
I was told by the pharmacist the propranolol is out of my system in 12 hours hence why it’s needed twice a day.
Apparently I would have hypotension, and then it would cause my heart rate to go up- and as a response my blood pressure would go up… The propranolol really helped so that my heart rate would not go over 100, as a result my blood pressure has been better controlled. I don’t know if you ever felt the racing heart, definitely hang in there, this medication seems to help, and honestly—helps with the anxiety if you have big fluctuations ( my blood pressure could change within 40 points in a day, it really seemed to help).
That being said, no substitute for how you respond to it, intuitively you also know...
Thanks. Yeah my heart rate is everywhere just now even walking 2mins it's up over 100 and same when relaxing and sleeping I've noticed up and down. Still waiting to hear from my GP what is causing the high BP
