SWITCHING ROM ATTENOLOL TO AMLODIPINE

Observation on taking Amlodipine 5mg per day-was switched from Attenolol 25mg day because of low pulse. Been taking Amlodipine for 10 days, first few days BP was quite erratic particularly on the systolic (top No) went from 159 to 124. My pulse went up from 42 to 59 /65. My BP has however somewhat settled now and pulse has remained at about 60. I have continued to carry out my physical training regime over the period of changing my tablets and have not suffered any obvious side effects. One observation I would make is that the BP monitor has the effect of inducing anxiety and make your BP rise. I found overcoming the compulsive urge to keep taking my BP and also deep breathing while carrying out the BP monitoring did help and reduced my anxiety driven BP.

Isn’t that the truth Harry240. Taking BP increases my anxiety too. Deep breathing does help 👍🏻wish it weren’t so stressful.
