I started taking 10mgs of this drug 4 days ago, I'm aware that one of the side effects is headaches the literature says they last a few days. I've pretty much had a headache from the get go and was wondering if anyone could tell me how long they last, do they go away or should I be looking to try an alternative. I have a phone call with my GP on monday.
Thanks

Hi Sonicds. I take Amlodipine 5 mg (which is also a calcium channel blocker) and I experienced headaches to begin with - I can't remember how long it lasted as I started over a year ago. Give it a chance to get into your system as the headaches will probably wear off after a while. Good luck. x
Hi I was moved onto lercanidipine back in Feb this year, I have had mild headache most days since I started, not bad enough for meds, but still with me, also have regular tinnitus, and some irregular heart rate, both since starting on this med, having given this drug 7 months the side effects are still present, and planning to discuss with GP, but everyone is different and they may not have any side effects. If you are speaking with your GP have your list of concerns ready. There are alternatives that may give a better quality of life, good luck
