I can’t seem to get my blood pressure down even tho am on meds, this means I am in

the At risk category for Coronavirus. All I can do is self isolate, is it worth bothering my GP?

Mine is around 170/100 . I am 67 . My gp is not too concerned as it is heredity . I have low cholesterol a bit over weight but not too much. I don't smoke and only drink about 4 pints a week. I was on Beta Blockers for a while . My BP came down but I felt like a zombie .Don't go there ! See what you can do without taking too many pills . Don't worry . Good Luck , James

Thank you James. My gp is not happy and wants to try more meds, I would rather go without due to side effects like tiredness if possible.

i told my gp that i am allergic to medicines with noticeable side effects . so if you cant cope with the side effects go back and try something else

Yes. A few weeks ago, I had my physical; My GP Addressed mine through medication increase. I even feel better and did not realize I was feeling poorly.

I am on meds but my readings are round about that sometimes even higher. I am on review at the moment taking seven day reading (four times per day) for my nurse/practitioner. Medication will definitely be increased and I am not looking forward to that. You should let your GP know. Good luck.

What meds are you on and have they ever brought your bp down to good levels?Let your GP know but I also wondered if anxiety may also be a factor.I am on meds and a recent 24 hour bp put me on 119/73 average and yet the first time I met my cardiologist recently it was 170/100.Those of us with high bp seem to also have very volatile readings...perhaps this is like you.A 24 hour measurement would be a good idea to make sure you get a reliable idea of your bp.

Yes it would seem it is very volatile, but so am I! Am trying meditation at moment!

Yes, I've found that helpful as well.I got in such a state about measuring my bp that my doctor suggested my husband took it and averaged the results.Works for me.🙂
