Irbesartan side effects.

My husband eliminated indigestion by following a low carb diet. Recently indigestion has returned, and it more or less coincided with changing to Irbesartan. Has anyone else noticed this?

I am on Irbesartan only had for less than a month don’t have that side effect but have muscle pain sometimes severe just wondered if you had any of this. I had this really bad with Lercanidipine and I was taken off that and put on this. Muscle pain is a lot less with the Irbesartan but still a big problem. Does mention this in list of side effects. I will try a bit longer and mention to gp when I see him next. I’ve the years I have tried them all and have a lots of side effects difficult to get it right.

He hasn't noticed muscle pain, but he's tried without his tablets for 2 weeks and the indigestion is virtually gone. He's checking BP each day and it's been ok, so he's going back to the doctor to try going off tablets.

I think virtually all meds have some side effects.

Hi Jmde I am pleased for him worth asking doctor if a different treatment would be better. I have been on a lot of different types of bp meds over the years. But lately have had a lot of problems. A few of them certainly cause the muscle problems and list this as side effect. Just need to find one that doesn’t, and weigh up the other side effects. Take care.
