Blood pressure

Hi,

I have readings of around 135 over 83, I have early pkd, bloods are normal just simple cysts on kidneys. Does anyone have any advice on the above readings. Should I be looking at meds. I'm 33 and quite active I manage a bakery and do weight lifting and cycling. I'm thinking because of the recent bad weather I haven't been cycling for 5 weeks maybe this is the cause.

hope this blood pressure chart come out okay and you can read it and see. I dont think you would need blood pressure medication as mine was highter than yours 10 years ago and i never got put on any blood pressure medication but i was 57 then. so im not 100% sure. you could phone the pharmacist and ask. google.co.uk/search?q=blood...

Most people I know are trying to come off blood pressure tablets as they have such awful side effects. 135 over 83 sounds good to me and is in the 'normal' range for a healthy person. But then I am not a doctor so maybe you should ask them if you are worried (it may be different with Polycystic kidney disease ) - although I can only share my experience with doctors these days who seem happy to put us all on pills, many of which adversely affect people on sites like these! I have had a terrible experience with only 5mg of Amlodopine which has given me painful tendonitis and I am not sure this can be undone. I am having to see a physiotherapist. I would think toxin going through your kidneys would not help.

Yeah with polycystic kidney high bp can make the condition worse faster. I'm just concerned. I'll prob speak to my gp or nephologist about it many thanks.

This is a good BP reading. Most of us would be thrilled if we could get our blood pressure this low 😝. I wonder what caused you to be concerned? Stay off meds as long as possible, they all have side effects.

It's just my polycystic kidneys everything else is fine with them bloods are good and stuff. I thought anything near 140 over 90 was getting on to be high.

All medications have side effects for some people but not everyone. It is untrue to say that all meds will cause should de effects In everyone. Sadly on many health forums it is the people who think they are experiencing side effects who post about it and not the many who have no side effects. For some people, meds are necessary and may save lives.
