Bp at very young age
Hi Tausy, You are young to be having blood pressure problems but it shows you what worry does. I'm assuming those numbers are the top numbers (systolic) ? What is the bottom number (diastolic)? Just wondering. Is your anxiety severe on a daily basis? All these things, no matter what age, could give you high blood pressure. I'm sure your doctor ran some blood tests etc. Were you diagnosed with Anxiety as well? I'm hoping that your medication will help bring down those numbers. Learning relaxation techniques will help as well. Take care, wish you well. x
Down is also not constant keeps changing everytime 87,90,sometime even over 100
Tausy, my numbers were like yours and I was finally put on medication. It works in helping you feel better as well as keeping you safe. Oh there are times with immense stress that the numbers may shoot up but with the medication in you as well as using relaxation methods, it comes down before any harm is done. Wish you well. x
Don't get stressed as stress will increase your BP anyway. The doctor might be able to increase your dose to 20mg, I think. Are you overweight as losing weight can help lowering your systolic measurements. My brother who is quite fat has normal BP and he keeps saying that having pets ensured he's relaxed.
I totally agree with Agora1's suggestion of relaxation techniques.
Enjoy listening to birds singing and to relaxing music. All will be well.
I am on 3 different tablets so maybe you need a review by your doctor, but if these readings are your own then it is very easy to get a false high, make sure you are relaxed when you take them. Also try yoga or Tai Chi classes to learn how to relax. If your job is stressing you out then change it.
Hi Tausy
I have been on blood pressure medication since I was about23 ,54 now I would love to come off medication.my doctor said when I was diagnosed it was good to find out.
Hi,
I was being monitor for slightly high blood pressure readings since the age of 30. There is a history in the family on my Dad's side with heart attacks, strokes and high blood pressure. My aunt was on blood pressure medication in her early 30's
I managed to keep my blood pressure under control slightly by taking up Tai Chi to help with relaxation as I have always been a very stressy person who finds it difficult to relax. I also reduced my salt intake as well.
Because of suffering from anxiety and depression I had to start taking blood pressure medication. That means I managed to control my blood pressure myself for 16 years.
I am not surprised with some of the readings I was getting last year and having to go on medication because I've had an awful couple of years.
A few months ago I decided to remove as many processed foods from my diet and I was pleased that I started to loose some of the weight I have gained in the past 5 years. With loosing the weight and also removing processed foods, I've had my blood pressure medication reduced.
My aunt is doing fine even with being on blood pressure medication for the past 40 years.
Worry and stress do raise the blood pressure, so maybe finding something that you can do to help stay relaxed and to ease the tension and stress may help you.
From my experience re-assessing your diet may also help with reducing your blood pressure as well.
Also our GP should be able to offer you advise on other things that you can do.
I hope you are able to get it under control.
Take care.
