Covid vaccine

Hi All,

My Husband got a phone call from our Doctors on Friday and was asked if he’d like an appointment at a nearby health centre for his Covid vaccine and would his wife like to have it too and of course he said yes for us both.

The appointment was the very next day Saturday morning at 10am. I’m happy to say that it was all extremely well managed with one way in and one way out. Everyone of the staff were fully masked and gowned with lots of sanitiser everywhere.

I’ve got Bronchiectasis. They ask you a lot of questions about health and medications etc., I’m allergic to Penicillin, Tetrocycline, Septrin and now Ciprofloxacin has been added to the list, because of my allergies the Nurse went to get the Doctor and she asked me a lot of questions about my symptoms when I had the allergic reactions...how I reacted to them and what happened to me, I really thought I wasn’t going to be able to have it but after a while the Doctor okayed it so we both had the Pfizer vaccine. Neither of us had a reaction to it except my Husband had a slightly sore arm but that’s all.

I hope all who want it will get an appointment very soon and please don’t be afraid of going. For anyone who is scared of needles ( I’m not thankfully ) I didn’t even know she’d done it it was absolutely painful

I hope I haven’t gone on too long.

Keep well and keep safe. x

I

Hi, I have allergy to penicillin but not ciprfloxin. I can take it but it is annoying that you need to avoid milk so much of the time, makes it hard to find the right time to take it.

I can’t take Penicillin at all Kate because I get covered in huge spots and my eye lids swell so much I can’t see and my top lip swells right out so I can’t have it.You may be better leaving it alone because there are other antibiotics you can take but I’m no expert your Doctor is the best one to speak to about it.

Take care and keep safe x
