I only joined recently as I am a carer for my husband who has copd. I asked for advice on how to cope with his condition and motivate him. After receiving a lot of good advice on here things are starting to improve. He ismaking more effort to do things now and seems to be over coming his fear slowly. A big motivation for him, is to be fit enough to drive to see the grandchildren at xmas. One thing we are both doing is stopping smoking this is day 1 and we haven't had a cigarette "yet" we have all the nhs aids so are determined please keep us on the straight and narrow. Bye for now.

Good luck with stopping smoking x
Good luck with it, I stopped about 18 months ago and never looked back.
Hi Mistykim, To stop smoking was no 1 priority so well done, excercise regularly and try to carry on as usual is other priority. I was diagnosed 12 years ago and had lost about 60% lung capacity and am still going, just drove 210 miles the other day and managed quite well, Keep trying and it comes together. Hope this helps in some way. good luck.
good that you are giving up together, do hope you succeed. Got to be positive
Good news, keep up the good works.
This is the first day of the rest of you smoke-free lives! Good luck.
Well done for quitting. It's not easy, but well worth it. I stopped 9 months ago and don't even think about them now.
Good luck and get support on this site.
