Coped with chronic cough

I have boderline coped with a nagging cough I get 2 weeks straight of coughing and then 2 weeks not one cough and then it starts again another 2 weeks oh coughing and so on, I'm on stiolto and annuity inhaler it helps with breathing but not the cough I have soar ribs and soar muscles from coughing so hard, anybody experience this type of cough, I need to get rid of it, my pulmonary Dr. Prescribe robitussin no alcohol and pills noting works can anybody help me. From your symptoms I wonder if there is an environmental factor that brings on your coughs. It seems your coughs have a regular pattern. Are you coming into contact with anything that would cause irrigation to your lungs.

Thanks Badbessie, I don't know but I will start noticing things around me. I took antibiotics, it stop the cough but it came back and that the cough wasn't viral. Thanks again for your reply.

Try a simple symptoms, food and activities diary to see if there are any triggers causing the coughing. It doesn't need to be too complicated: just a few columns e.g. date, time, activity, food/drink, symptom; and you don't need to fill in each box each entry. Good luck.
