just recently I posted about my need to pee just after I’ve been and how awful it is. Well thanks to the experiences of those who replied I had lots of questions for my GP. I now have medication for a OAB. Also a ultrasound being sorted out. A referral for the tens machine. Apparently I have to see a Urologist to be assessed. So I feel a little better in myself something is being done. I would not have known about these things to query. It is a really useful group to belong to. Once again thank you.

That's great news, well done! When I had my ultrasound they asked me to empty my bladder and then scanned me again. Turns out my bladder doesn't fully empty which exacerbates my IC. Hopefully they do similar for you. Best of luck with the rest of your journey and I hope you can tolerate your new medication. I tried tolterodine and it didn't suit unfortunately. Got to try everything though hey as we all react differently x

Thankyou. Don’t know how successful the ultrasound will be as I will not be able to hold a full bladder. The GP has started me on Oxybutyin. Not read the side effects as I suffer anxiety and will have all of them. I know you cannot drink alchohol on this one. I do not drink but do enjoy a glass of wine occasionally. But if it is tolerable and works it will be worth it. X

Oh I know that feeling with a full bladder! As always ultrasounds always run blooming late 😤. I honestly was breathing like you do in child birth with the pain trying to hold a full bladder and then having to lay on the table for scanning 😱. I agree, I don't read the leaflet either cos of anxiety! You will soon know if a side affect isn't tolerable! Ive got everything crossed for you 🤞🤞 x

Hi. I'm glad to hear that your doctor has started you on the way to helping your problem. A proper diagnosis is the key. The oxybutynin gives me a dry mouth but i keep a small bottle of water near me at bedtime so a sip if i wake up helps with that. A small amount of alchohol, or a glass of wine probably won't cause you any problems. Please keep the thread here informed on your progress as it will help all of us!

Hi BlueJewel, yes I will do that. You all have been so helpful. As I have said the only thing worrying me is the ultrasound. No way will I keep a full bladder . I said this to my GP and she said not to stress about and do what I can. So fingers crossed. I went to my son and his family yesterday. With my mind engaged with his family I felt so much better I actually forgot about it for a while. So some of this is my anxiety. Wish I could do it at home.

Alloa girl, I wouldn't worry too much about Urine Input on the day of your Ultra Sound' just do what you can do, they will still get a helpful reading, and be able to make some assessment.

I had one recently, and found it difficult, but it turned out well in the end, so don't stress too much about it. Hope it goes well.

Hi Alloa girl. This a great site, for a vast range of idea's. I find personally that it is very much, trial and error, mostly error up to now, but I will keep on being hopeful.

It's kind of like a 'Lottery', you never know if or when you are going to get the winning ticket. It's always the 'Forlorn Hope' that keeps one going.

All the very best. Ron

Sorry Ron not to have replied to your helpful posts. Just read them now. On Solifenacin now. Thankyou about the Ultrasound. Never will I keep 1 litre of water in for over an hour. Yes this does appear to be hope. I am not 100% sure it is OAB. Still will speak to my doc in a couple of weeks and will see. I see from my records on the surgery web she has referred me to a gynurologist , goodness knows when that will be.
