My OBGYN suggested surgery or a pessary. I'm 91 and in perfect health and could have opted for surgery but decided to use the pessary instead. There is still discharge but I use poise pads and they work perfectly. A visit every three months to have the pessary removed and cleaned has work well for me. Discuss this with your OBGYN.
