I have only just got my first lot of powder after reading about it on here it worked fine just a tiny spoon full in water.what Iwant to know is can you take it long term to keep it off has anyone done this how often do you take it and is it safe . am I right in thinking it's made from cranberry

D-mannose is a kind of sugar that is related to glucose.
There's been studies done in people using it daily for 6 months. Great results. The only associated listed problems are possible diarrhea or needing to watch blood sugar levels. So consider it like you've had a good serve of something sweet that day and moderate. If you don't have it that day you could still eat your fruit portion. Much the same as if you ate some coconut you'd consider you'd had some fat for the day.
From everything available it seems incredibly safe. Much safer than bacteria that gets a grip and leave antibiotics as an option. That's like bombing the microbiota of the entire system.
I personally take it while symptomatic and stop once I'm good. Add it in again if necessary.
But huge point to ponder here... Blueberries whether fresh or frozen will give me the needed start. So consider food triggers and perhaps those can be avoided.
