Lemon Barley Water

I was told that lemon barley water is good for UTIs and bladder irritation. Is there any truth on this? Over the years I have been told of many supplements that are good for diabetes and heart disease but find there is no real supporting evidence!

Nothing ventured, nothing gained so have brought a bottle (no added sugar).

I saw a program where they said barley water was used by the Greeks and Romans as a medicine/tonic. A few hundred years ago they stated adding sugar and lemon to I prove the taste. A Mr Robinson commercialised the process to produce what we know today. As a diabetic I buy the sugar free version. It has been associated with the Wimbledon Tennis Championships since 1934.

It may have been in my mind but I think it helped soothe the UTI.
