rosuvastatin fatigue

Thanks so much all you lovely people. Really supportive and helpful and encouraging too. Just an update.. Ive now been on 5 mg Rosuvastatin for around 7 weeks and cholesterol down from 6.3 to 4.9 so I'll definitely keep going. . And the unexpected good side effect is that along with my bp meds it definitely lowers my blood pressure ..( hooray !) The only bad side effect seems to be increasing fatigue as the weeks have gone by but I'm hoping it will settle down .

Does anyone else find fatigue has been a problem too ?

I started statins on Atorvastin which affected my liver, went onto ezetimibe which gave me awful fatigue, but been on rosuvastatin for 6 months now and no probs,I feel these meds have different side effects for people,if you're not happy, stop it for few days and see if feel better,if do then change it- if not then you know it's something else

Thanks for advice sandandkev

GP suggests trying alternate days which is still very good as even 5 mg rosuvastatin is v. effective, to see if fatigue lessens .. so am trying that and so far so good

If you are struggling with fatigue and you believe it is possibly caused by medication you should consult your GP or a pharmacist, but you should not stop or change the dose of any medication unless you have consulted with your GP or GP pharmacist however harmless it may appear, and that is the recommendation given in the community guidelines.

I also take 5 mg Rosuvastatin every other day which works, though cholesterol gone up slightly I prefer it as still a lowish level. I only get side affects when pharmacy changes brand (very often as it is the cheapest one that month), some brands have a bad affect on me and a few others on here have said the same thing!
