Has anyone taken bempadoic acid to lower non HDL i have been prescribed it as i dont tolerate statins or ezimitibe seems I don't tolerate bempadoic acid either.
side effects of joint pains, itchiness, heat on feet and toes, exhaustion, cold symptoms.
not sure what they will try on me next!
Go back to your GP, explain your situation, and in view of your apparent issues with side effects from the other lipid managing medication you have tried so far, discuss whether you qualify for Inclisiran, which is a periodic injection.
Did you come off regular statins for a period of time before starting the new meds as they can stay in your system . I'm currently in week 1 of a month off statins to see if my muscle , joint pains get better, if they do I'll be going on bempedoic acid as a trial
I did not have symptoms with statins but my blood tests showed liver enzymes were elevated so I was taken off them and put on Bempadoic acid and ezetimibe combined. I do get aches and pains but associate these with my ageing body rather than medication. Having seen my mother try and fail to control her cholesterol levels through diet and die of heart disease in her early 70s I am committed to taking medication as it’s clear that my body can’t do the job on it’s own.
I am currently taking Bempedoic Acid as the Ezetimibe did not lower my cholesterol enough, have only been on it since last November and being monitored with blood tests. I have been fine until recently but do seem to get aches and pains, due a blood test next week so will see how that goes, I had no issues with just the Ezetimibe though.
