That's just how it works. And its similar with other medical conditions. All you can do is to find a site for travel insurance with pre-existing medical conditions, fill in the online questionnaire as fully and honestly as you can, select some quotes that look suitable and take it from there.

as Lowerfield says. You just answer the questions that they ask you.

Many insurance companies use exactly the same questions, but each insurer has its own view on how it fits into their pricing of the risk.

A good place to start looking is the website of Moneysavingexpert.

unfortunately yes, you’ve been treated but medically it is a long term condition. Insurers will refuse claims if you don’t declare past history especially if you still take any medication.

Stents do not cure you of the condition which caused the initial blockage, they just help keep the artery/arteries open. This is a bit like wearing contact lenses to correct poor vision.

The plaque which causes the blockage will continue to form and build up, although you can make "lifestyle" changes and take medications which help to reduce the build up and inflammation it causes. However, in many people genetic factors also influence this process.

So unfortunately, however healthy you feel, you will always be classed as having heart disease.

Hi the travel insurance company I use asks what medication you are on and once declared there is a drop down for the reason, I find it an easier way to declare everything, there is also a box to fill in for anything you have been diagnosed with but are not having any treatment for it, in my case it's osteoporosis and arthritis. I’m with allianze and I called up with a list of everything I have/have been through and the people on the phone sorted it - saved me having to figure out forms and they knew what I did and didn’t need to declare.

Not what you're looking for?
