A little lost

Hi all, recently had open heart surgery to resolve my issues, having many complications through the surgery I eventually came out to a long recovery..... 4 months later had a minor heart attack to then find out i have chronic heart failure on my LV. I'm a little lost, don't know how to see life going on living this way. Trying to find local relatives support and struggling to do so unsure what support is out there.... maybe others that have been through similar and have guidance of their limitations. Open to all reply I'm in Cornwall and happy to c8nnect with any that want to.

Hi Dan, sorry to hear of your problems, it’s obviously been a hard road and you’re now at a crossroad wondering which way to go. Hopefully you’ll be able to find friends and relatives locally to give you support.

I don’t know which end of Cornwall you are in but it’s worth speaking to your GP surgery as they should be able to signpost you to support services. There is also the Cornwall link, where you might be able to find something that will help cornwall-link.co.uk Please keep us updated, there a lot of very kind and compassionate people on this forum that will help you.

Take care, David

in my area the county council is responsible for listing all support hubs.

Your GP group of surgeries should be employing at least one Social Prescriber who can guide you.

There should be plenty of support around.

Thank you I do have a social prescriber i speak to often, at the minute he is consumed with trying to get my financial support awarded from benefits so I will ask him next time we speak.

that’s good! I didn’t know they might help with benefits. I’ve used Citizens Advice for this, and they’ve been helpful
