I am currently on 10mg bisoprolol and 50g x2 flecainide which I have taken together before with no side effects. Just gone back on flecainide while waiting for a second ablation after af returned This time, coinciding with resuming flecainide I have been getting regular bouts of vertigo. Blood pressure OK and pulse stedy but a bit low at atound 54 resting. The cardiac nurse says it can't be the medication as it is low blood pressure which makes you dizzy. Anyone else had the same problem?

Flecainide and vertigo

Hi, I want to start by saying I’m not a medical professional and cannot comment on your case specifically. I’m commenting in the hope that my husbands experience may be of some use to you.
He suffered a HA 18 months ago and has been on aspirin, bisoprolol, statins and up to the 12 months ago mark, ticagrolor.
He stated experiencing dizziness which often also caused nausea. We thought it was the bisoprolol but his blood pressure was good, resting heart rate a little low. The thing was that the dizziness was often, but not exclusively, in the morning before he took the bisoprolol, so the medical view was it was not the likely cause. A stress echo and normal echo later, it appears all ok with his heart.
And then a GP had a very simple idea - BPPV. Benign Proximinal Positional Vertigo. And this does indeed seem to be his problem. The exercises do seem to help.
It may not be your issue but it’s certainly worth checking out. The NHS has a good bit of content on it if you do an internet search.
I wish you all the best in finding the cause - I know how scary it is when you don’t know.
I have been suffering from severe vertigo since bisprolol was added to my medication because angina is suspected. It makes me feel dreadful. I am waiting for the results of an electrocardiograph and hoping if the results are good I can stop taking them.Do hope we can both find a solution and soon be walking instead of staggering.
