Just after a bit of advice when I spoke to the clinical pharmacist at the surgery yesterday she said it's perfectly fine to have low blood pressure if you are taking blood pressure medication which I an I've got an Omron blood pressure monitor and the last few days when putting my measurements in to the omron app it's been alerting me that my blood pressure is very low did a check this morning pressure was OK but heart rate was 41bpm thoughts please.

Hi Coopergirl52
Is this a new medication you have started? Sometimes it takes the body time to adjust to a new med.
I am also on a medication which lowers my blood pressure and heart rate. When queried with my doctor, they said this is a normal side effect of a calcium channel blocker that I take and as long as it isn’t causing me any significant symptoms, such as passing out and becoming unconscious, it was safe to take.
Every individual is different however, and perhaps you can speak to a pharmacist about these side effects if they are troubling you.
All the best.
Tos
No not new medication be on them since HA April 22.
But since November last year have had dizziness, light-headedness and being breathless on exertion which is bizarre as I thought I would get symptoms sooner as I did with Ramipril which started within a couple of weeks starting the medication told my cardiac nurse who spoke to the consultant and was swapped over to Losartan no nagging cough since.
I still experience lower blood pressure some days and bradycardia even though I’ve been on my meds since Jan 2022. It isn’t bothering me, so I don’t pay too much attention to it.
I would say if it is particularly concerning you, speak to your cardiac nurse about a potential change in your medication.
That heart rate is bordering on being too low and with your BP low too, well I think you need to speak to your GP and see if you can reduce your medication a little.

I agree with jeanjeannie50, it’s okay to have a lower BP and/or pulse with this medication but how low is very low? There’s a limit and the GP is better placed for this discussion.
Good morning Coopergirl52. I am not a doctor but your. Heart rate seems low. I suddenly had a low heart rate of 48. Making me feel dizzy and was told I needed a pacemaker. So I should check with your doctor. Take care. Brian
Hi there,O think.it may be safest ro talk with your GP as soon as you can..That bp reading seems low. Your GP is best person to advise. Maybe need some meds tweeted a wee bit. Good luck.
Hi Coopergirl,
You were presumably prescribed Losartan for hypertension and your BP is now well controlled according to your surgery. The dose you are taking (12.5mg) is quite low but clearly sufficient.
The Bisoprolol was presumably prescribed to reduce your heart rate, which must have been too high at some point in your HA journey. This drug works in a completely different way to Losartan but may also reduce your blood pressure slightly as a result of reducing your HR. You are taking 5mg, which is half of the maximum usually recommended.
So if you want to increase your resting heart rate to a more normal level, you would only need to ask your GP if a reduction in Bisoprolol would be sensible. For example, a reduction to 3.75mg (25% lower) should only increase your heart rate by a small amount and should not noticeably increase your BP.
Good luck with your GP appointment.
Paul
