Can you take Gaviscon if you are taking Flecainide. I get acid reflux could take it before when I was on Dronedarone but forgot to ask if it was safe with the new tablet.

I would suggest you ask your GP or pharmacist. Your GP might prescribe a PPI (Proton Pump Inhibitor) like Omeprazole or Lansoprazole prescribed to most of us hearties.

Thank you for replying. Used to take Lansoprazole but had to come off it as it lowered my sodium and folic acid levels to much. Had to have folic acid for 3 months. Will give the pharmacy a call.

Interesting - I am now on a three month course of folic acid. I must ensure it stops then and not become a saga like my iron tablets.

I have flecainide and gaviscon and no adverse effects. Been recommended by both my cardiac and gastro consultants in consultation with each other. Only caveat was to keep the doses separated by at least two hours as gaviscon can block absorption of medication, any medication i assume. The combination is a saviour for me.

As with all medical things speak with your medic before embarking on using both medications together or ask your pharmacist at least. I keep off PPIs they worked briefly for me then made matters worse after a time, i was glad to get off them at consultants express direction, different people get on with different meds hope you find a solution that works for you. Best wishes.

Thank you for replying. I don't need it everyday but at times . I will check with health care professionals .

Just a suggestion, you might try Kefir, it sorted both my wife and my own acid problems.

We used to go to bed with a row of Rennies on the bedside table ready for the night, but since making our own Kefir and having a glass every day no further problems.

You can try shop made Kefir, but it's so easy to make your own and cheap as chips once you get into the habit, we use goats milk but any milk will work....worth a try?

Palpman thank you so much for going to that trouble . That was very kind of you.

tunybgur think I can make that in my Easiyo maker. Will give it a try. I always use coconut milk I wil try with that.
