Update re cancer

Hi everyone, I eventually got the phone call that I have been waiting on for around nine months. I was admitted for day surgery on Monday with a general anesthetic to finally get rid of the rest of the polyps. Thankfully they managed to get them all and the surgeon said everything looks absolutely fine, I have been so worried in case they had turned cancerous because of the long wait, what a relief it was to hear that I am ok. Dermatology on Friday and I am hoping there is nothing suspicious going on with my skin. Char x

Thank you for your kind words, It was awful having to wait so long to get it done that I expected the worse. Hopefully everything will be ok on Friday, I have the transplant clinic on Feb 7th . A busy start to the year! Char x

Hope that goes well. I had one 2 years ago. It’s just like a normal MRI with a few extra instructions. And it takes a bit longer so if someone is waiting for you just let them know that.

HI THERE. Nice to know that the recent biopsy was a benign thing. It was not clear to me whether it was a colonoscopy or some other procedure. My wife who is now 75+ had a repeat of conlonoscopy and like you it was confirmed colyp and all of them was removed. That was reassuring . How old are you and would you requre a follow up colonoscopy in 5 years hence ? Regards.

Hi a year ago I was diagnosed with bowel cancer after the routine test, I had a colonoscopy and a scan that confirmed it, due to the position of the tumor they had to remove the right side of my bowel, I was told at the time there were still polyps at the left side to be removed, they said it would be between 3 & 4 months, which didn't happen, my transplant hospital chased them up and eventually I got an appointment but it couldn't be done without a general anesthetic due to the position and type of polyps, so after nearly a year of worrying they were removed on Monday, I have not been told what the follow up will be I was hoping it wouldn't be as long as five years but at the moment I don't know, I was 66 last October. That is great news that everything is alright with your wife. Char.
