I started 1.5mg Bisoprolol last March and a few weeks ago I noticed a rash on my upper arms. I went to my local pharmacist but they were no help and advised me to get an appointment with my GP... Some hope. I'm on quite a cocktail of drugs including Ranolozine, Amlodipine, Isosorbide Mononitrate, Metformin and Atorvastatin anyone else have a similar problem.

Medication Rash
you might find it easier to have a telephone appointment with the pharmacist employed by your doctor’s group of surgeries, and that person would have access to your medical records.
I wish it was that simple he's as difficult to contact as the Dr's.
I feel your pain!
Sometimes if I ring my surgery I simply get “we are not taking calls at the moment”. Urgghhhghghg !!!
But I’ve found, when I do get through, that the pharmacists we have are very helpful and knowledgeable.
Also, because everybody knows that the surgery is hard to access, I’ve found that there are only short queues if I visit personally.
I had a leg rash and cold sensations on my left foot shortly after starting bisoprolol. It settled after a few weeks. No issues since. I find that bisoprolol is helpful, for me it tends to reduce the incidences of tachycardia and ectopics. I hear what you are saying about the difficulty of seeing a GP.
Rash is a common side effect of many medications, including Bisoprolol (see the section on side effects here bnf.nice.org.uk/drugs/bisop...
But as this did not start immediately after you started taking Bisoprolol it might be a good idea to check with your GP in case the cause is something else.
I was on the usual cocktail of meds following a triple-bypass in March. These included 2 beta-blockers. First, Bisoprolol (from March to mid-August) and then Nebivolol from August to mid-September. In that period, red dry blotches spread over the right side of my face.
When I came off the beta-blockers, the blotches faded and receded. This was an unexpected bonus. My cardiologist had suggested a trial period off the beta-blockers in relation to other side effects.
I was on Ramipril for a year with no problems then all of a sudden a rash appeared on my lower arms and legs, then spread to my abdomen, topical hydrocortisone did nothing, nor did any other OTC antihistamine creams or even the oral antihistamine for allergies, I stopped the Ramipril and the rashes disappeared after a week, then I was on Losartan for a year, no problems, then the same sort of rashes appeared on my arms, legs, hands, feet and earlobes, prescribed stronger hydrocortisone, still no effect, now I’ve got the same rashes with Atorvastatin and this time the rashes are taking a long time to go, my BP isn’t high all of the time, that’s why I can stop the meds, the only thing I’ve found that stops the itching, is white vinegar, stings for a bit if you’ve been scratching, but the itching stops and the vinegar smell goes away quickly, doesn't cause any medical problems or side effect and it’s cheap.
Just a thought, did these rashes coincide with the injections we are not allowed on here to mention?
