Hi everyone thanks in advance for the help I've taking Bisoprolol only for 6 days now. But have been experiencing vibrations in the chest and stomach I think it's some kind of side effects I'm on a low dose of 1.25mg a day But I wasn't going to take from today, but just reading up and it says to withdraw properly my cardiologist didn't back get to me yesterday or today I took yesterdays but haven't taken today's
Do I need to lower the dose a little before I just stop taking them I was only on them for six days
Thanks

Everyone is different, some handle medication, some don't. Difficult thing is that the best advice will be from cardiologist or gp, or pharmacist. They will have a better idea if the medication needs to be kept up a bit longer or not. Side effects can be difficult to handle. But what is the alternative? Wish I could advise, but we are not professionals. One day at a time. Take care. Moni
Hi there, im not medically trained so always ask your cardiologist before making any changes... it's unlikely you would need to reduce dose as you are on starter dose anyway and not even a week into it. If you don't get on with them, there are many alternatives that do a similar job. I was intolerant of bisoprolol and was switched over to Metoprolol which was a much better fit for me. I have been on both Metoprolol for a year now with no major issues.
The vibration thing I had as well, it came on in my stomach, chest and thighs.. It was before I took those meds though so I assumed it was part of my condition, it went away about 2 weeks after I started the 4 pillars of heart failure medication.
Go back to your GP or Ask your pharmacist about this . It may be that taking them at a different time of day might help. I have to take mine after breakfast not before. I'm on the same dose as you. A friend takes hers just before bed. It took about a month before my body adjusted to them ( I had different issues) , but I'm fine now.
Hi I was put onto it a lot higher dose but had terrible side effects stopped taking it for a few days ended up in hospital speak to your Dr there are others available they changed mine in hospital much better now
I couldnt get on with this drug at all. I felt like a zombie, could hardly walk, couldnt sleep and was exhausted all the time. After5 weeks of hell I saw my gp and told him I would not take any more,I had no quality of life. I also retained a lot of fluid and gained a stone in those 5 weeks. Only lowered my heart rate by 3bpm anyway. So I stopped and within 4 days felt more myself again.Ilost the weight I had gained in 3 weeks. I was npt offered an alternative. I just take blpod thinners twice a day. No side effects stopping at all
My husband had similar side effects and discussed this with his cardiology team. There are other medications they can use. Always consult the cardiology team before changing anything.
He did? Thank you for replying today it's felt like a constant flutter but all right of chest and it's like Im Vibrating with it, shaky just absolutely awful. Have seen my cardiologist today he told me to stop. Thanks for the reply
Hi Amy, I stopped taking 1.25 mg bisoprolol last Thursday, after 4 months, my gp stopped it as my BP and heart rate dropped too low and I was feeling ill, the first day was ok, then days 2&3 I felt awful, shakey, palpitations, my skin hurt on my chest.
I phoned the BHF and they advised me that adrenaline will flood your system which will calm down but if I had any sign of heart problems check with GP, 111 or go to A&E.
