I am 6 years post AVR and along with other tablets take Bisoprolol. After reading some of the answers on here recently, I wondered would I be less tired if I took my tablet at bedtime rather than the morning. So are, I do feel a little less weary during the day but I have started to have really strange dreams - not bad but just very odd subjects and very vivid! I just wonder is this as a result of changing the time of the tablet or just a coincidence. Thanks x

I take Bisoprolol in the evening. But I'm also on an SSRI (which are notorious for vivid dreams) so I don't know if I would get the effect from Bisoprolol on its own or not.
I take 1.25mg bisolprolol both morning and evening. Initially I was on just the one low dose, which made me horribly groggy. I think I’ve gradually got used to it (or more accepting of this state, not sure). Adding the second dose didn’t make things worse. Might be worth considering.
My prescription is for both day and night, my higher prescription tablet is for the daytime and is ok for me, but a BHF article I read recently mentioned if those on a prescription encountered issues with extreme tiredness, then taking it at night time would probably be more suitable for them.
When I first started taking Bisoprolol I kept experiencing very disturbing dreams which seemed so real. My HF nurse warned me beforehand that this is a common side effect of Bisoprolol. Thankfully this passed after my body got used to the drug.
I'm on 3.75mg a day. At first it was 2.5mg but the dose was increased. Bisoprolol played havoc with me from the beginning so after a long chat with the GP Pharmacist she recommended I played about with my dosage until I got it right. That advice is possible up there with the best I've had. I now take 1.25mg at 9am, 1.25 at 3pm and 1.25 at 9pm. The difference in how I feel is palpable. I feel so much better.
Very interested in reading your post I am on 10mg bisoprolol and it's floored me I asked the gp and have just started 5mg morning and 5 mg evening and feel a bit better I was wondering about taking at night as my blood pressure has dropped and concerned it may drop too low overnight, taking digoxin 1.25 and furosemide and edoxaban so all of these affect blood pressure, am going to see if I can go into 3 doses as well thanks for the info.
As long as the prescription is for one daily dose you can take whenever it suits you best, as long as you take it at around the same time regularly: bhf.org.uk/informationsuppo....
