I had a full repair for my aneurysm in 2022 for which I have been discharged from hospital having taken 18months to fully recover.
I am on Clopidogrel & Atorvastatin for life. I take one each of this medication taking them in the morning after my breakfast, and at a set time of 10.00am each day.
I have preferred to take them in the morning rather at night as I couldn't sleep, and pain in my legs whilst in bed.
Am I ok with taking my meds in the morning rather than at night? Does it make a difference to my Cholesterol level that isn't good or am I ok with my morning routine.
I haven't had any known problems.
Any thoughts welcome.

Some statins ought to be taken in the evening, others it doesn’t matter. This is because your liver works at night to deal with the cholesterol.
If the pack insert on yours says a specific time, and this isn’t suitable for you, then probably your best course would be to speak to the pharmacist who is employed by your doctor’s group of surgeries (details on your practice website, probably).
Failing that, your dispensing pharmacist.
Personally, I’m on Atoravastin and I take in the morning - as approved by pharmacist! My husband is on Clop and Atoravastin like you - and he’s a morning person too.
Thank you very much for your contact and info. I have been better taking both in the morning, and staying as close to the time I have given myself to take them. I will, as you mention, speak to the practise pharmacist . Many thanks
On the advice of my cardiologist, I take my Atoravastin in the morning as well. It seems to work fine as my last round of bloods showed a cholesterol level of 2.
Thank for commenting....well done to you I say. That's good news for you, and makes me feel better that what I am doing is ok. It certainly worked out better for me taking in the morning, although I still have aches and pains I manage them.
