Severe Dysfunction of Left Ventricle

As well as AF I have a diagnosis of Severe Dysfunction in my Left Ventricle. I've been prescribed a number of meds to help . I believe that the severe dysfunction of the LV in part may of been caused by my excessive alcohol drinking prior to my diagnosis.

Would this dysfunction be the reason my AF is persistent or do I have severe LV dysfunction because I have persistent AF?

I've stopped drinking alcohol since I noticed AF(6 weeks) as well as continuing to exercise and eat healthy, along with my meds could my LV function improve?

Apixaban 5 mg

Dapagliflozin 10mg

Spironolactone 25mg

sacubitril valsartan 2 x 25mg

Cause can go in either direction.

Lifestyle and meds can improve LV function, sometimes simply by making your heart's job easier rather than "fixing" your heart.

Thanks for the reply. It's nice to know there's hope. I've only had the diagnosis for a week and since then my whole world has turned upside down. My wife is very supportive but even I know there is a limit to how much of my anxiety she can listen to in one day.

give it time. Took 18 months for mine to go from 25% to 38%, 38% is mild, unfortunately damage is not going to get much better in my case.

If nothing else is wrong it should be 50%. Hopefully you will reach this eventually.
