Hi I had a CT angiogram scan in June which revealed a dilated left ventricle. I've just had an echo and my LV is normal size, normal ef. Back in June I had chest pain sob, palpitations. I still have those but not the chest pain. Am I to assume the CT was wrong or could my LV have shrunk back to normal so quickly? Could it dilate again?

Dilated left ventricle to not Dilated in 16 weeks?
I suspect from my own experience that these changes are sometimes related to how the technician/doctor interpretes them .
Thanks yes I think this is my worry. I await my cardio appointment to discuss but i suspect they will say everything normal due to latest result. Do you mind me asking did you challenge this in your own situation? If so how?
I have heard of an EF of < 20% increase to 50% over a period of 9 months following an infarction
I am sorry to say for me back in 2019; I had a an EF 0f 30% went on the normal heart medication. In January 2023, ECG and Echograms' done. My EF was down to 20%. all my medication was increased. further test was done in July 2023, a nuclear test, and the results showed an 15% EF at rest and 20% pro. Just had another two test in September and October 2023, had a possible 5% improvement back to average 20%. Now there have again increase my heart medication saying that I am stable. I have a telephone consultation on the 1st of November. I know they will say everything is alright. but if everything is alright with all my increase of medication How can my heart be improving. Wish you luck
