Hi Seaguller, I was diagnosed in Late Dec 2020, with lvsd, I was rushed in on the 28th Dec, I thought I had a chest infection, which got severe by the evening so was blue lighted into the LGI in Leeds. I had fluid on my chest and fluid around my heart which was causing the breathing and heart rate problem. I was in for a week until they got me stable. I have been on several meds over the time, bisoprolol, entresto, spironolactone, digoxin, apixaban, bumetanide, started on ramipril but changed to entresto a few months ago. They think mine was from a virus over the xmas period. I’m still under the Hf nurse and they are now looking at possibly cardio version and possibly a cardio defibrillator. It was a total shock to me as I was a very fit 65 year old golf 4 times per week and gym 4 times per week. The NHS have been really great with me as I struggled with anxiety, heart palpitations and all sorts. It has taken a long time to get my meds right, and still been tinkered with now. I have come on since the start of this. I have been under a psychologist to help with anxiety and to come to terms with it, Hf nurse and started rehab a couple of months ago. It is a long road to recovery and I’m still overwhelmed with my new life. I know when to rest and not to overdo things but I do have a life. You do need to listen and follow the cardiologists, Hf nurses and take your meds. Also you need to get motivated to get exercise everyday but if you feel like a rest day then take it and don’t feel guilty. It is overwhelming at the start and it’s a bumpy road but there a life after diagnosis, just a different one. Best of luck and stay well.
