I'm just wondering what devices people use to monitor their pulse. I have a Samsung Watch (other smart watches are available) and it is registering my resting pulse at 31 and above. I have a suspicion that my resting pulse is lower than that at times as it seems odd that 31 seems to be the lowest I have seen (it doesn't seem right that it would suddenly stop at 31). So I thought I would check and see what others are using. I'm not going to buy an Apple Watch for this purpose but wanted something I had a little more confidence in. I'm on the usual assortment of drugs for Angina and Peripheral Arterial Disease but I still think it is too low at times, especially if it is dropping below 31.
Thanks

Fingertip pulse oximeters are quite cheap and reliable. But not sure why you're thinking the watch is wrong not going below 31, there has to be some lowest figure surely? I think 31 is plenty low enough, when mine was about there and I was hooked up to an ecg machine it was constantly sounding the alarm!
I had a Samsung watch, Galaxy 5 (I think).31bpm was also the lowest reading I ever got, which made me wonder if it was as low as it's capable of reading.
I've since been using a Garmin Venu 3, mainly because it monitors my HR better/more regularly. 34bpm is the lowest it had recorded, which has tallied with a Polar chest monitor.
(I get these low readings as I have ventricular ectopy and the heart rate monitors only read the full heart beats, not the ectopic beats)
any good blood pressure machine with a cuff (available from all good pharmacies) will measure your pulse as well as your BP.
I have an Apple Watch and it’s accurate to within 1 beat per minute when used against a chest strap heart rate monitor I use for rowing and also against the bp cuff device.
I use the app Qaly to analyse my ecg results from the Apple Watch and an app called Welltory to analyse my overall health.
