palpations at nighttime

Had a stent fitted 5 years ago and on usual medication like Bisoprol and aspirin. Have intermittently AF and recently on going to bed heart flutters and speeds up and irregular rhythms. I try not to panic and takes me a long time to go to sleep. Usually ok in morning. Watching drama at night sometimes triggers this. Also performing on stage has triggered an episode.

How best to calm down and should I see a Dr

Definitely see a doctor.I get palpitations at night if I drink more that 2 bottles of beer. I cured it by giving up drinking alcohol. Just an idea.

Definitely see a doctor. They can arrange a monitor to observe what is occurring when you feel these palpitations, and from there what needs to be done. You may also have underlying cause (abnormal blood chemistry, thyroid disease, etc.) that can be detected with blood tests etc.
