It’s 3 weeks since I had 4 stents. Fitted in a not so comfortable angioplasty, and I feel worse this week than I did last week.
The nausea seems to be worse, I sleep a couple of hours and then awake most of night before dozing for another hour in the morning. Last 3 days I’ve been quite breathless and my energy levels are non existent also I find myself in floods of tears for no apparent reason. I am booked in at GP for a blood test for HB levels as I was border line anemic when I left hospital. I was wondering has anyone else experienced anything like it.

I definitely relate to this. Had STEMI and stent 7 weeks ago and have had periods of breathlessness and chest tightness on and off since. Been back to GP, A and E and had a stress ECHO. Each time not considered to be cardiac which is good ( waiting for result of stress ECHO) but doesn't help with symptoms/anxiety/ mood. Looking on here and speaking to people I know who have had a HA and stent these symptoms don't seem uncommon at this stage and in my case I wonder if they be be related to side effects of meds. My GP and A and E staff have been amazing and actively encourage me to get checked out when I'm concerned. I'm also exploring counselling as the last 7 weeks have come as such a massive shock and I feel I need help processing everything.
It seems like you’re still having symptoms im experiencing, i too think it could be the medication but my GP and pharmacy team say I need to be on them. Have you had a six week follow up with cardiologist?
Yes. Symptoms vary from day to day. I have a rehab assessment next week and cardiology review later in October. Just GP and A and E docs ( which has included cardiology review on a couple of occasions) up to now.
I had an NSEMI and stent fitted on the 9th June and for a good few weeks struggled with my breathing exhaustion and dizziness however I now seem to be used to my meds have more energy levels and better breathing. In all I just think I'm on a long road to feeling more like I did before my event but I'm doing OK so hope you improve soon. If you've been offered cardio rehab support accept it going to their sessions has been of immense value to me both physically and emotionally
After my stents, breathlessness does seem to be a common factor! This will subside as your condition improves.
I think you could also benefit from watching utube videos on sleep, rest is quite important for us hearties. I know for me it was difficult to get a decent kip and sometimes still is.
I had 3 stents also 3 weeks ago. Since then have felt a different but consistent slight ongoing 'pressure' around the heart area but am less breathless upon exercise. No other problems really .. bruising all gone apart from largish area near my hip but do not know what caused that! Suspect we both need more time to allow things to settle.
It takes a good while to get over the mental trauma of having a heart attack or being stented and can cause intense anxiety which in turn can easily cause all the symptoms you all describe. I know because I have been there and as everything regarding the heart checked out as ok needs to be taken into consideration. Of course the meds can possible have side effects but not the ones you all describe so believe me when I say your mind will get used to and accept your condition and in time all of these symptoms will disappear. Wishing you all well.
I had emergency PCI on 7th August, 2 stents were fitted I am experiencing exactly the same as you for the past week. I felt better the previous weeks. I have called booked for tomorrow with my cardiac rehab nurse.
I could have written this. Myself.....3 stents 24th January and. Am. Just feeling right now..
It took me nearly 3 weeks before I would sleep. With the lights out.
Every.. Stent poke dart ache and palm filled. Me with fear
My doc rang me twice a day and was great...
The tiredness was very very bad and I cried like a child..
. Regular shock. Is a major thing with stents particularly if u hand no warning or preexisting conditions.. Like me showed up in a chest CT for. Pneumonia the previous year .. Recurrent
Had a lot of shoulder and neck. Pain and discomfort for weeks and it has eased. Now....
Its a real eye opener to have stents fitted. And the realisation u had a.. Real near one with your heart.
My Cardiologist said to me
Its easier to fix a plumbing problem with. Your heart than a structural. Or electrical.. I am a complete coward and worrier... But its early days after your stents
Lots. Of rest.. Sleep.. And taking it easy.. Don't push u ourself or feel u should. Be making. Better. Progress. Like I was....
The day will come u will feel like walking driving... Going out to meet friends and heading off out on your own.. The fear of something happening will ease and u will get stronger......
U have had trauma...... My doc said this to me too..... And everything will slowly reset including your mind...
Let the tears come.... Let yourself get overwhelmed.. It's a safety valve for the body and mind
. Let urself do absolutely. Nothing.. It's all part of healing. And regaining acceptance that u are now fixed and just need to get strong and confident again.
Just had my review.... 3 weeks ago and got the all clear..... A years time before I return
And..... I am slowly regaining confidence...losing the fear.....and Living again......
Write down all your fears and questions for. Your GP
email the same questions to your cardiologist.. And all the things u are fearful of doing and attempting to do......
Any aches and pains also
Tiredness could also be a kidney Infection brought onn by the blood thinners as was my case..
