I have just had my sleep apnea results and I have not got sleep apnea, The cardiologist referred for this test from when I passed out twice and my arms and legs were shaking at work and I was taken to A+E by ambulance in February 2024

Sleep apnea test results
hello
I had the overnight home test and they found no apnea. They gave me an appointment with respiratory consultant anyway and after answering their questions plus filling in the standard questionnaire (the one they get patients to fill every time go lung / sleep department) the consultant sent me for overnight hospital test which is far more in-depth and looks at brain activity. That’s showed mild apnea and I’ll be given a CPAP machine in couple of weeks. Was checked for restless leg syndrome but negative.
It’s definitely worth seeing a respiratory consultant if your sleep / tiredness issues still continue / haven’t gone away.
👍
Thank you for your reply, I will see what the cardiology consultant says when he replies to me. My GP would not do anything about my going confused, sweating spells I keep having till I had my sleep apnea test, Next time these spells happen I will see what my GP says this time, I will mention seeing a respiratory consultant if these spells keep happening or I pass out again, Thanks again
I’ve just had an overnight sleep test and was told it would be at least 6 months for results. Did you wait that long?
Had my sleep apnea test done over last weekend, Took my monitor back Monday morning and got results straight away, Can't believe you might have to wait that long
I’m struggling to remember timescales for home overnight test but once I had done it I think April 2023 the results didn’t not take several months but I know I waited nearly a year to see the respiratory consultant. Think that was because low priority as no sleep apnea found. But they still said worth seeing consultant which I am glad they said that .
between this March and this September it’ll be six months or thereabouts for seeing consultant, him ordering overnight tests at hospital sleep clinic , getting results - have got sleep apnea, seeing consultant again and getting CPAP machine.
My experience is once your diagnosed with sleep apnea it moves a little faster.

Good news, my son has it badly and it's seriously debilitating
have you had a neurological check up?
your description of your event sounds more like a type of seizure, so I wonder what led them to a heart-related cause - just a suggestion from an outside perspective, I'm sure that must have been considered in A&E
Hi , It does sound like a seizure to me, Don't know if it's anything to do with me having two stents ,LVH and high blood pressure in the past, The cardiologist said he thought it was a sudden drop in blood pressure that caused me to pass out twice and legs and arms shaking,When I was in A&E I had a MRI scan to see if blood was getting to my brain which it was
mmmm, if you don't have a history of seizures you might want to discuss this possibility with your GP
