Ticagrelor

After my third stenting procedure 5 years ago, I was prescribed Ticagrelor 60mg for life. Is this normal ? I am concerned that i have found no-one else on this log term dosage. Also, NICHE doesn't seem to support this.

a couple of years ago I combed NICE for similar advice. It was hard to follow for a non-medic, but I eventually found that the cardiologist should regard each case on its own merits. Whether for the usual one year or longer.

In my husband’s case this was for Clopidogrel.

I should say, straight away, that I am not a medic. I don’t know what is ‘normal’in this situation.

I can only say what happened to me. 10 years ago, I had a HA. I spent 4 days in hospital and was discharged with a prescription for Ticagrelor for 12 months and 75mg Aspirin, daily, for life.

Hi I was prescribed ticagrelor after my H/A ,90mg twice a day for 12 months..Asprin as well, I now just take asprin to thin blood.I have heard of people being on ticagrelor for 2 years.

It's so frustrating not getting any answers from Dr's etc to put your

mind at rest.

I had 3 stents put in 10 days ago, they've put me on Ticagrelor for a year.
