Back again, been on Bisoprolol 1.25 for for the past month , felt i was okay now no sensations , but the past two days started getting sensations again, light headedness , and strange feelings in the chest , it does,t feel like my At fib starting again ,felt really good the past couple of weeks, thought the medication was starting to work, but now back to stressing out thinking to much and wondering what,s going on . just wondering if anyone else has had the same sensations , even though i know it s a low dose. I had the same problem when starting on bisoprolol 1.25mg I was still getting tight chest sensation for 8 weeks then it settled down .It is scary as it's your heart and if you need a chat give the bhf nurses a call they are very helpful

Hello :-)

I have thought I had not seen you on here and was hoping you were doing ok and you were but seems like you have taken a step back at the moment but while you are adjusting this can be normal

Hopefully things will settle back down again and I know there is no point telling you not to worry because you will but the more you do the more you will feel things

Maybe see how you go and if you still feel this way talk with your Doctor they may look at the dose you are on but they will reassure you

Let us know how you get on :-) x

Hi the gp did say a month ago when he put me back on bisoprolol that we would have to see how things go and that he might have to increase dose, the only problem is that when they first put me on it back in April they increased it to 2.5 and then thats when i had real problems with it .They lowered it , for a while then took me off it and now back on it.Just have to see how things go on for the next week. Just drives me up the wall one minute feeling good and trying to plan things ,then wham your back to square one. hope you are feeling better then last time i saw your message, hope things are improving .

Hello :-)

See what happens then in the next week and if you feel no different you will have to go back and talk to them

I know that feeling though you just think something maybe working and then back to square one it does get you down but sometimes certain things can take some time to sort and get right what suites us and you will get there you are doing better than you think so keep going :-) x

I also struggled with similar side effects (1.25 bisoprolol) after OHS MVRepair - try taking it in the evening before bed or try changing to Atenolol with GP advice of course

I,ll see how things go,but if they increase dose ,have to ask him the options, when iwas on 2.5 before, had real problems from side effects.

I was put on 5mg after my HA. Couldn't take it. Was taken off it for a while, then put back on it at 1.25mg. But told to take it before I went to bed. This has been working fine for me. Maybe take it at night?

I had an adverse reaction to Bisoprolol some years ago so stopped it quite quickly. Later given propranolol and took it for years but felt unwell most days, thought it was my undiagnosed condition. A year ago I was diagnosed with cardiomyopathy. Recently I was given atenolol as propranolol was not available and had horrific reaction - light-headed, queasy, fainting fits. After a few weeks the penny dropped, I obviously over-react to any medication ending in "lol" as they were all only 10mg. I have since weaned myself off propranolol and feel the best that I have for the past two years. I had a week or so when my BP and heart rate went up but my body has now adjusted. At 82, I'm not perfect, but I'm OK,

Hi, sorry you are having to go through this. May I ask why you were put on it? I ask because I have been told to stop my propranolol for a few days and start on Bisoprolol 1.25mg. I’ve been having ectopics for years but recently they have become almost constant hence the change of medication. I’ve been in and out of A&E several times but they say ectopic and not to worry, easier said than done !! I’ve had a 24 hour tracing which showed lots of ectopics and runs of them but of course they weren’t as severe then 🙁. I’m seeing a Cardiologist in November.

Was diagnosed with Atrill Fibulation 2018,but really didn't notice it until April this year, saw gp ,he saw blood pressure was high and put me on it,since then they,ve upped the dose then lowered it ,took me off it, now back on it the past month

Thank you for replying 😊. It’s silly but I’m dreading starting Bisoprolol although having so many ectopics has become quite distressing, I can feel them banging away night and day and have now effected my daily life 🙁. I hope you can find the answer to your medication ups and downs !!

I’ll let you know how I get on with it, I’m starting it tomorrow and I think I’ll take it at night, do you think that’s a good idea?

I always take mine in the morning, because the gp told me to,but I,ve read on this forum a few people take it at night, I hope things go okay for you,let me know how you get on with them

I've just been put on Flecanacide 50mg twice per day as well as I went into Afib again it seems to have controlled it for now .I'm not having problems with bisoprolol or Flecanacide so hopefully your symptoms will clear up soon as well

I,m just seeing how things go over the next few days with the low dose of the bisoprolol, problem is I have been dealing with nerve problems in the same area of the heart and its hard to tell the difference.
